Mission statement

InExeter, a business improvement district company.

We celebrate the city, support local business and deliver change.

Colour palette

A diverse colour palette that is made up of sub-palettes for each ‘Quarter’ of InExeter. This way, when creating designs, you have the option to use the overall palette as a whole for general design and use the sub palettes when designing for specific areas. Click on the colours to copy their hex code to your clipboard.

An off white colour is used as a background colour instead of bright white to avoid creating too much contrast. The hex code of the off white colour is #F5F4EE

Sub logos

InExeter champions a multitude of different areas and the branding caters to what the city has to offer. Below are the variations of the logo available to use.

Typography

For legibility, we suggest using different font weights where applicable, especially where some headings are written in lowercase. Absender DM2 can be used to complement the main typeface, for example as headings or buttons across digital work to tie in with the brand logo.

To help keep a casual and open tone, ‘Sentence case’ is used for headings rather than ‘Title Case’. With all the main headings, or Heading 1 (H1) as it’s better known, these will end in a full stop. The secondary headings, or Heading 2 (H2) & Heading 3 (H3), will not have a full stop. Text within buttons is all lowercase.

Brand identity

An identity to represent the city.

These shapes have become a part of the visual identity used to represent InExeter and are versatile enough to be used across many areas of the branding. In both design and print, these icons bring a playful aesthetic and become shapes that are synonymous with InExeter. See below for examples, colours are interchangeable using any colours from the palette.

Social design

To keep consistency, the social graphics will adhere to the new branding. Including colours, typefaces and the use of the brand identity. Below are examples of some simple singular designs and more complex ones. These are editable downloadable templates for Illustrator to give clear ideas on what social posts should look like.

Social icons

Because of the vast colour palette, there are many options for the colour combination of the profile pictures used on social media.

The same goes for Instagram highlight covers, where icons have been used to represent what is on offer. We suggest naming these highlights using ‘Sentence case’ with a full stop at the end. For example, Markets. / Nights. / Eat.
